Madhubanti’s story took a turning point during a visit to the Dooars festival in West Bengal and North Bengal. It was at this festival that she performed the song "Shayad", which would ultimately change her life. Speaking to her audience in Alipurduar, Madhubanti reflected on her musical journey, recalling how music had always been her passion.
She shared with the crowd in North Bengal Dooars Utsab that how, after completing her engineering studies, she had moved to Mumbai, completely unaware of what awaited her there. Like many aspiring artists, she had no connections and was unsure of how to navigate the tough music industry.

In her speech, Madhubanti touched on the doubts and discouragements she faced from others when she pursued her dream. She mentioned how people often warned her that a career in music was insecure and that it might not work out.
However, despite the doubts, she chose to persist. She made the bold decision to move to Mumbai, a city full of uncertainties but also opportunities. It was during this phase of her life, when she was on the verge of giving up, that she received a phone call for a song. That song, which would later prove to be a game-changer, was "Shayad", a romantic track from the 2020 film Love Aaj Kal 2, sung alongside the renowned Arijit Singh.
Madhubanti recalled the moment with gratitude, explaining how she initially didn’t realize the magnitude of the opportunity she was given. The song "Shayad", released as part of the movie, gained significant popularity, and her career began to soar. From that point onward, Madhubanti’s voice became a fixture in Bollywood, with her songs featured in films such as Laxmii, Hum Do Hamare Do, Good Luck Jerry, and Heeramandi.
